Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her aid and motivation to strengthening South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) services in the course of an engagement together with the company's senior professionals in a strategic setting up session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the various social grant beneficiaries, who excelled from the 2024 matric examinations.
On the 724 156 full-time learners who registered to the National Senior Certificate (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, representing 81% on the registered pupils from the schooling sector.
These learners attained a commendable pass rate of 86%.
"This indicates the financial commitment government is producing in the lives of very poor and susceptible little ones is yielding a constructive influence in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe said.
